Aromatherapy
What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils as an alternative medicine. Essential oils are aromatic compounds obtained from the essence of plants by steam distillation or expression. They have been used since time immemorial.
Essential oils extracted by chemical solvent are called absolutes. They are hazardous products, unsuitable for medical use.
Herbal distillates, hydrosols or hydrolats are the same thing. They are the water-base by-products of the distillation.
Different countries use aromatherapy in different ways. For example in France, Spain and Belgium, essential oils are mostly used internally where in the U.S., UK and Germany, they are mostly used in massage.

Essential Oils have numerous synergistic properties: antibiotic, painkiller, healing aid, antiviral, antiparasitic, antifungal, psychic rebalancer, decongestant, anti-inflammatory, etc. They constitute a complete pharmacy on their own.
Particularly dentists or doctors in France often use them as medicines (internal intake), in combination with other herbal preparations or homeopathy.
In nursing, essential oils are increasingly used in pain management, anxiety, depression, cancer and palliative care as well as Alzheimer, etc. Aromatherapy may be used in combination with other forms of alternative medicine.
Terms such as "essential oil therapy", "clinical aromatherapy" and "medical aromatherapy" have been used by some journals, educational institutions and practitioners, in order to distance themselves from association with the commercial aspects.
Sylvie studied Medical Aromatherapy (internal and external use of essential oils) with the C.E.A.H., school for medical professionals in Belgium.
With her knowledge of medical aromatherapy and vibrational treatments coupled with her health dowsing abilities, she is in a position to offer a unique health therapy.
The quality of essential oils is paramount for results, they have to be Botanically and Biochemically Defined (E.O.B.B.D) or chemotyped. That is why she has sourced a supplier who produces wild and organic medical grade aromatherapy products.
